Privacy Policy for Alchemy: EPUB Reader & Text-to-Speech

1. Overview

Byteveil ("we", "us") provides Alchemy: EPUB Reader & Text-to-Speech (the "App").

Alchemy is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not require an account to use the App.

2. Data We Handle

Alchemy stores the following data locally on your device to provide core functionality:

• Imported EPUB files and generated cover thumbnails

• Reading progress and last position

• Bookmarks and bookmark notes

• Collections, collection order, and per-collection ratings

• Reader and TTS settings (for example font, theme, playback settings, orientation preference)

3. Data Byteveil Collects

Byteveil does not collect personal data from the App for analytics, advertising, or tracking in the current release.

Byteveil does not sell personal information.

4. Third-Party and Platform Services

The App uses Apple platform frameworks (for example text-to-speech/audio playback) to deliver features.

If you import files through Files/iCloud/other document providers, those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not share your in-app reading data with advertising networks or data brokers.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because app data is stored on your device:

• Data remains until you delete content/settings in the App or uninstall the App.

• Deleting a book in the App removes related local metadata associated with that book.

• Uninstalling the App removes locally stored app data managed by iOS.

If you contact us, we can help with deletion guidance.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect data handled by the App. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Updates will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last Updated" date.
