Privacy Policy for DeckPin: Ship Inspections
Last Updated: March 19, 2026
1. Overview
Byteveil ("we", "us") provides DeckPin: Ship Inspections (the "App").
DeckPin is designed as an offline-first inspection workspace. The App does not require an account, cloud sync, or a remote server for core inspection workflows.
2. Data Handled on Your Device
DeckPin stores inspection information locally on your device to provide core functionality.
This can include vessels, decks, floorplans, inspections, observations, evidence photos, inspector profiles, inspection types, and export or backup files you create.
3. Photos, Floorplans, and Imported Files
When you import floorplans, vessel photos, or evidence photos, DeckPin copies them into app-local storage so they remain available offline for inspections, reports, and backups.
If you use Apple document providers such as Files or iCloud Drive, those services process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
4. Data Byteveil Collects
In the current release, Byteveil does not collect personal data from the App for analytics, advertising, or tracking.
Byteveil does not sell personal information.
5. Sharing and Exports
Information stored in DeckPin is shared only when you explicitly export, back up, or share files, when required by law, or through standard Apple platform services needed for app operation.
You are responsible for reviewing exported reports, backups, and attached inspection materials before sharing them with others.
6. Retention and Deletion
Because DeckPin stores data locally on your device:
• Data remains until you delete records or media in the App, or uninstall the App.
• Deleting a vessel, deck, inspection, or observation may also remove related locally stored files.
• Uninstalling the App removes local app data managed by iOS, subject to iOS backup and restore behavior.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures to support secure local handling of inspection data. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last Updated" date.
